Dear Sunset Ridge Families,

I can’t believe we’re already in January—this year is flying by! With so much happening at SRE, we wanted to share a few important updates from our recent PTO board meeting, along with what’s coming up for the rest of the year.

Playground Shade Structure Update
We’re excited to share that the school board has officially approved the shade structure for the playground. This was the next major step after building approvals, and we are now waiting on scheduling details for installation. The total project cost will be approximately $25,000, and we have already reserved $30,000 in a separate account to fully fund this project. We’ll keep you updated as we receive more information.

Looking Ahead & Getting Involved
Our January PTO General Meeting will serve as a planning meeting for next year. We’ll begin discussing board and chair positions for the 2026–2027 school year. If you’ve ever been curious about getting more involved, have ideas to share, or simply want to learn more about how we plan events and programs, we’d love to see you there. Volunteering looks different for everyone, and every level of involvement helps our community thrive. Please join us at the school on January 22nd at 6:00 PM.

Teacher Grant Program
We’ve begun planning for the implementation of our Team Grant Program. This program will be funded through PTO resources made possible by our community’s support—especially contributions to the Falcon Fund—so that we can directly invest in classroom ideas and student learning. If you’re interested in helping, serving as a chair, or reviewing grant submissions, please contact me—I’d love to have you involved.
